Doble 6-4 de Dustin a Pospisil y a cuartos!

Dustin Brown is a colorful figure on and off the court, having made a mark in Uzbekistan with some sterling performances at the Challengers at Samarkhand and Karshi earlier this year, he has become quite a favorite with the local crowds. Brown spoke to the media after he made it to the quarterfinals.

Q. What is that is so different that makes people take notice of you wherever you go?
Brown: I'm an unorthodox and carefree person and player I like to be like this and that is what makes all the difference.

Q. Actually a lot of players don't like playing against you although you are friends with most of them off court?
Brown : True , actually a lot of my friends hate to play me in matches because my game is very flashy , I don't give anyone rhythm and keep changing my game , this becomes very frustrating for my opponents many times, and they crack.

Q. Your game and rankings don't seem to match?
Brown: Actually I have played lot on clay, this is the surface I like a lot, but this year has not been good for me in doubles as I lost a lot of Close first round matches. Also I play singles and doubles, if my singles ranking has suffered I'm happy that my doubles ranking has improved from 140 to 70 now.

Q. Probably you are one player who never sits down during a change over breaks?
Brown: Yes, I have developed this habit since the last 3or 4 years and since then have never sat down to cool my self. I realized my pulse rate goes down if I sit down, but I like to be active all the time and now it has become a habit for me.

Q. How is it playing for a country which doesn't have any tradition of tennis , you're the only persons from the Caribbean to be on the world tennis stage?
Brown: The reason I choose to represent Jamaica is that I love my country, as I could play for some other country if I wish. But I'm what I am because of my parents and not because of any help from my federation , they have not helped me a bit in my career for the last 14 years. But I want to be known as a Jamaican playing tennis as this gives me immense pride

Q. You are having a wonderful week playing in Uzbekistan?
Brown: I like playing in Uzbekistan, I have already played here in Karshi and Samarkhand and have good results and that is one of the reasons I have come to play here. I'm playing well and enjoying myself.

Q Your thoughts on Tashkent Challenger?
Brown : I had earlier heard about the tournament from other players and always wanted to be part of it , my earlier visit made up my mind for me. It's a great and well organized event and the people are just so good. I love it here though I have not been able to do much and see around.

De nuevo se ha quedado Dustin en semis, ha caído ante K. Beck por 6-4, 6-7 y 6-2, ánimo!!!

Esto no lo entiendo muy bien, dice que le gusta mucho la tierra pero ha perdido muchas veces en 1ª ronda en dobles? no será en singles? o en dobles también perdía pronto en tierra?  :cheesy:

Si, ha perdido en los 2 la verdad.

Aunque yo a Dustin lo conocí aquí en Murcia el año pasado en un Futures que es en tierra, y se notaba que le gustaba, pegaba mucho palo y mucha dejada, y la tierra le ayudaba a colocarse mejor para pegarle, no sé, quizás fue ese día que estaba inspirado.

Está anotado en la semana del 8 al 14 de Noviembre como primer favorito en el Challenger Aachen, en su tierra alemana.

Dice en su FB que desde esta semana jugará por Alemania  :shocked:  Eso es que ha visto que en el dobles podría jugar la Davis..

Pues vaya, de piedra me he quedado, jaja, aunque siempre he dicho (y él, lógicamente), que se sentía más alemán que otra cosa.
En el cuadro de Eckental ya aparece como germano.
